Many moons ago at a music festival I seen a circle of people playing these cool hand drums around a bonfire. They asked me if I wanted to try and play. I said sure! When I got home from the festival I went and bought my own drum. These drums are known as Djembes which is a French word I believe, but the drum is of South African decent. I still have that original drum, I now use it as a table though.
Dawn bought me a new drum when we were just friends. It is one of the best presents anyone has ever bought me. I don't get a chance to play too often anymore (hasn't really been a festival going year). Any time I need a spirit boost I can always pull out my drum and play by myself, which is fun, but it is a rhythm drum and I find it way more fun making it u p as you go around a large (or small) bonfire on a holiday weekend with a bunch of people.
Just thought I would share my thoughts about drumming! :P
